This blog was created as an extension of the portraitlighting.net website. In retrospect, much of the material on that website could more easily have been published to a blog. So, from this point forward, a significant portion of the portraitlighting.net-related content will appear here. This switch makes it easier for me to share ideas and observations, and has the added benefit of allowing readers the opportunity to add their own experiences and spin.
Through reader interaction, I'm hoping to create a place where shared perspectives and ideas make us all better photographers.

- I'm simply a photographer who'd like to share his knowledge of lighting and photographing people. I've often been described as a jack of all trades and a master of none. I hope some day to shake that reputation and master the craft of portraiture, but I still have a way to go and I'm not sure if I'll ever make it. A good cup of tea and a collaborative work environment are two of the many things that bring me joy.
